Harold Clarkson

Harold Clarkson was born in the United Kingdom. He began to study cello at an early age, and at age18 went to Austria to study at the Musikhochschule in Vienna. He subsequently began his career as a professional musician in Canada, soon became the president of the Organization of Canadian Symphony Musicians, and the orchestra director at the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa.
In 1990, he returned to Europe to join Konzertdirektion Hans Ulrich Schmid in Hannover, Germany. There he headed the orchestral tour department and became managing partner.
Harold Clarkson was on the board of the International Artist Managers Association (IAMA) 1996-1998, and then President from 1998 -2001.
In 2005 he moved to IMG Artists to assume the position of Senior Vice - President and Global Director, Orchestral Tours Division. Since then he has expanded his activities to include opera, and ballet touring of the IMGA.
