Moscow Youth Chamber orchestra is a musical band, that rapidly gained popularity in Russia and abroad. The Moscow Youth Chamber Orchestra was initiated by the scholarship holders of Regional Public Fund “Russian Performing Art” on the base of State Musical-pedagogical institute named by Ippolitov-Ivanov. The Orchestra was headed by Honored artist of Russian Federation, President of “Russian Performing Art” Fund, rector of the SMPI named by Ippolitov-Ivanov, professor Valery Vorona. Its original cast included the students of many leading educational institutions of Moscow, many musicians are the winners of the scholarships of “Russian Performing Art” Fund, the winners of the international musical competitions. The Orchestra’s debut took place in December 2003 at the closing-up concert of the Russian Constellation of the Youth festival held by the Vladimir Spivakov’s International Benefit Foundation at the Rossia State Concert Hall. Consummate skill, interesting repertoire policy, young enthusiasm and spirits, rich sound assortment, exclusive ensemble integration – that are the distinctive features, that allowed the orchestra to take the noticeable space on the concert stage. The orchestra takes part in many prestigious international festivals, cultural actions, is the participant of the season concerts of Moscow state academic philharmonic society and Moscow International House of Music. The performances of the orchestra take places on the best concert stages of Moscow- Big, Small and Rakhmaninov halls of Moscow conservatory, concert hall named by Tchaikovskiy, Hall of church meetings of Christ the Saviour Cathedral, State concert hall “Rossia” and other concert stages of Russia and abroad. In 2008 orchestra took place in the performance of mono opera by F. Pulenk “Human voice”. This performance was nominated for the National award “Golden mask” in two nominations. Among the recent concert tours are: the participation in the international musical festivals “Musical meetings” in the residence “La Pree” (France), ” Yurmala classic”(Latvia), “Nancyphonies” (France), “Blooming wild Rosemary” (Cheeta), “Krasnodarskaya camerata”(Krasnodar), “Christmas concerts” (Riga), “Prikamye -2008” (Perm), “Young musicians of Russia and Korea” (Seul), participation in the government concert in Peking, dedicated to the opening of Year of Russian Language in China. Participation in the cultural program of the XI Petersburg’s International Economical Forum (Concert cruise Sweden –Denmark –Germany –Russia). The activities of the orchestra invariably attract the attention of famous conductors and outstanding soloists, with many of them orchestra has developed very productive and creative relationships. The concerts with Valery Gergiev, Yuriy Bashmet, Vladimir Ponkin , Saulus Sondetskis, Vadim Repin, Dora Schvarzberg (Austria), Georgiy Garanyan (Russia), ), David Goloschokin , Valery Afanasyev (France), Hugues Leclere (France), Denis Shapovalov , Karlos Prieto (Mexica), Brenis McKenzie (USA), Yuliy Milkis (Kanada), Nina Kogan , Sergei Dresnin (USA), Borislav Strulev (USA), Boris Frumkin and his juzz trio, Bridgit Anjerer (France), Irina Bochkova, Paolo Valieri (Italy), Maria Maksakova, Vladimir Chernov and others went with great success. For the very short period large concert repertoire has been mastered by the young musicians, which includes quite a lot of very seldom played pieces of past and present times. Orchestra was the first performer of the row of compositions by famous Russian composers, bright and interesting arrangements. Along with that the repertoire of the chamber orchestra invariably includes world-known masterpieces of musical art.

  • The orchestra has many prospective creative plans, many fresh and interesting ideas. One of the most important tasks is the acquaintance of the musical public with the most prospective interesting young performers, composers and conductors, building up the favourable conditions for preservation and development of native traditions of musical art by new generation of musicians in Russia.

Basic concert line-up consists of 25-30 people (chamber program), symphonic line-up varies due to performing program. The rehearsal is essential on the day of the concert in the concert hall (acoustical and microphone) The repertoire of the orchestra is very various. But the performing of a new program of any level is possible depends on the request of the customer. The preparation takes from two weeks up to two months depends on the amount and complexity of the repertoire.
